Todd Swanson joined Proficium as CEO in August 2024. Previously, he was Vice President and General Manager of Intel's Silicon Photonics Product Division, responsible for growing the silicon photonics business in the data center, service provider, and system OEM markets, and for leading technology and product development in the Optical Compute Interconnect space. Before Intel, Todd spent over 18 years at Finisar Corporation, serving in roles including Product Line Manager, Director of Marketing, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, EVP of Sales/Marketing/R&D, COO, and Co-CEO. He also held R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and sales roles at Princeton Lightwave, Aegis Semiconductor, and Hewlett Packard's Optoelectronics Division.

Todd holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from MIT.

Jose Olague, Chief Operating Officer at Proficium, joined the company in May 2023, assuming the COO role in September. He brings over 25 years of experience driving operational excellence and innovation in both high-growth startups and Fortune 500 companies, including General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, Boston Scientific, Abbott Laboratories, and Amgen. Prior to Proficium, Jose was VP of Engineering at Alpha Teknova, where he spearheaded the development of advanced manufacturing processes, differentiating the company in the competitive custom reagent market. He also co-founded Paws Plastics, LLC, providing crucial support to Silicon Valley companies in bringing innovative products to market. His background includes leadership roles in product development, manufacturing engineering, business integration, and large-scale capital projects. He has a proven track record of successfully launching and scaling complex, first-of-their-kind products across various sectors.

Jose holds a B.S. in Electromechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Engineering from ITNM. At Proficium, he leverages his deep expertise in manufacturing process to optimize operations, enhance efficiency, and drive strategic growth initiatives.

Optical networking veteran and Proficium CTO, Brian Patton, brings over 30 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing high-end connectivity products. His expertise strengthens technological innovation and supports both new and existing customers. A pioneer and respected leader in the field, Brian specializes in the engineering, customization, and advanced testing of optical transceiver, DAC, ACC, AEC, and AOC solutions for the most demanding networking environments. 

Prior to Proficium, Brian served as VP of Engineering for 13 years at Approved Networks, US Critical, and Champion ONE (acquired by Legrand).

Andy leads Proficium's global sales team, focusing on helping customers solve problems and find products they love. He also leads the company's revenue forecasting strategies. He brings over a decade of experience in the photonics networking industry, including several sales leadership positions prior to Proficium.

Most recently, he was VP of Sales at Coherent Corp (formerly Finisar), where his team developed strategic partnerships in the Datacom and Telecom sectors, resulting in record year-over-year growth and annual revenue approaching $1 billion. Before Coherent Corp, he was Managing Partner and Sales VP of a leading Silicon Valley firm, generating over $500 million in semiconductor and fiber optic transceiver sales.

Andy holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Illinois University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children in a suburb of Chicago, working on home renovation projects, golfing, and water activities.

Peng oversees financial strategy, planning, analysis, reporting, and accounting operations for Proficium. Prior to joining Proficium as the VP of Finance, Peng built a distinguished career at leading global companies.

As Finance Director and CFO of Intel’s Integrated Photonics Solutions Business Unit, he took full P&L ownership, leading cost optimization, business pivots, and driving significant operational efficiencies. Peng also led finance teams at Lucid Motors and Western Digital, managing large-scale budgets, aligning financial operations, and driving cost efficiencies to support organizational growth.

Peng holds an MBA from the University of Rochester, an MS in Management and Finance from UC Irvine, and a BA in Business Economics from UCLA. Known for his strategic vision and data-driven approach, Peng combines advanced financial expertise with collaborative leadership to deliver sustainable business results.

Mike Fukatsu joined Proficium in October of 2024 and oversees all Product Line Management and Marketing Communications activities. His role focuses on driving the strategic direction of product lines in alignment with company objectives and long-term growth

Prior to his current role, he was Vice President of Marketing for Spectra7 Microsystems, Inc., a pioneer in the active copper cable semiconductor space. Over the last 25 years he has held numerous senior product management and engineering roles with several semiconductor and optical transceiver manufacturers where he drove product growth and innovation in the data center, telcom, wireless, CATV and video broadcast markets.

Mr. Fukatsu received a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the California Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.

As Vice President of Datacenter Solutions for Proficium, Steve Cheng leads the design and engineering of cabling and component solutions that address the rapidly evolving needs of hyperscale data centers and AI-centric connectivity. Steve brings over 25 years of experience architecting, constructing, and operating advanced connected infrastructures for leading hyperscale companies, including Microsoft, Meta, and Google

A recognized innovator in the field, Steve has developed best-in-class connectivity solutions, infrastructure design principles, and cabling and component specifications widely used today. He is the inventor of a revolutionary, high-capacity, self-cleaning, low-loss universal fiber connector - a game-changing technology for AI connectivity offered exclusively by Proficium.

As Proficium's Principal Data Center Architect, Trevor Matthews leverages extensive experience designing, deploying, and managing data centers for leading technology companies, including LinkedIn, Palo Alto Networks, and Google. This diverse background gives him a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities in the modern data center landscape. Trevor leads Proficium's data center design and deployment teams, spearheading the expansion of the company's comprehensive data center solutions.
