Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Product Line Manager to lead the development, growth, and management of our structured cabling product portfolio. This role focuses on driving the success of our structured cabling solutions, which are essential for building and maintaining reliable networks in commercial, industrial, and data center environments. The Product Line Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance products that meet customer needs while aligning with industry trends and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through prototyping, testing, product launch, and end-of-life management. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products that meet customer expectations and compliance standards.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, and sales teams to bring products to market and drive their success. Ensure smooth coordination between teams to meet product timelines and quality standards.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the financial performance of the product line, including pricing, cost structures, profitability, and P&L. Set financial targets and ensure the product line meets or exceeds them.
- Product Launches & Marketing Support: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop compelling product messaging, go-to-market strategies, and promotional campaigns. Support sales teams by providing training, product documentation, and positioning that resonates with key customers, such as contractors, network operators, and large enterprises.
- Customer Engagement: Engage with customers, including system integrators, contractors, and IT professionals, to gather feedback, understand pain points, and ensure product solutions meet their needs for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess the performance of existing products and identify opportunities for improvement based on customer feedback, market shifts, and technological advancements. Propose new features and enhancements to maintain competitive advantage.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure that all products adhere to industry standards and certifications, such as UL, RoHS, TIA, and ISO/IEC. Stay informed on the latest regulatory changes and incorporate them into product development processes.
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for structured cabling solutions, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, market trends, and company goals. Focus on providing solutions that support both traditional networks and emerging technologies.
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive offerings in the structured cabling space. Monitor regulatory changes and advancements in standards like TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in product management or development within the structured cabling, telecommunications, or networking industry.
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling technologies, including copper (Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A) and fiber optic cabling, as well as related components (e.g., patch panels, connectors, and cable management).
- Familiarity with industry standards and certifications (TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC, UL, etc.) and experience ensuring product compliance.
- Experience in managing product lifecycles, from ideation and development to launch and end-of-life.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, sales, marketing, and operations teams to deliver successful products.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and with external partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions and product improvements.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with smart building technologies, IoT networks, or data center infrastructure.
- Understanding of trends in high-performance networks, such as 400GbE, 800GbE, 1.6T, and beyond.
- Strong financial management skills, including cost analysis, pricing strategy, and P&L oversight.
- Prior experience in B2B sales, technical sales support, or working directly with contractors and integrators.
